My "Glee Radio" Experience

How often is it that an undiscovered artist is asked to be featured in a radio show? Not very often. Mind you, this show isn't K-Hits or anything like that. It's a small, independently run online talk show called "Glee Radio", and is hosted on blogtalkradio.com.  I'd posted this youtube video...

...and the host (also a friend of mine, Christy) saw it, and loved it so much she decided she wanted me on her show. I figured she just meant for a few minutes, but then I discovered that she'd already set up the show and the title was "Michela Anderson showcases her talent!" I couldn't believe what I was reading. The WHOLE thing is about me?! I thought over and over.  Sure, it sounds a bit pompous reading it out loud, but it was true! I could not process the idea that someone thought I was that interesting to have a whole show about me.
The show itself was so much fun. I was so nervous before-hand, but once it started, I gained my confidence and just started having fun with it. I ended up singing 3 songs, Wouldn't It Be Loverly, I Could Have Danced All Night, and Edelweiss. I think nervousness does something good for me, because I didn't mess up very much at all. The interviews went well, I answered the questions to the best of my ability. When we got to the caller portion of the show and we still had about 10 minutes left, I started to panic, thinking nobody was gonna call in. After a little encouragement to our listeners from Christy and myself, the calls started pouring in. First it was one, then two, then four, then all the way up to seven! Everyone who called in absolutely made my week. It was so great to know that I have that kind of support from friends, family, and even total strangers. Then the show ended, and my Facebook absolutely BLEW UP. I was getting wall posts, comments, messages, and IMs left and right! I was typing nonstop for about 20 minutes. But I loved every second of it.
A special thank you to Christy, the host of Glee Radio for giving me this opportunity. It was a blast!
You can find the podcast on iTunes (just search Glee Radio) or on the website, and I will post the show below...
